This was insane! Memorable but out of this world on so many levels. To the divers who are used to reef diving, diving in Iceland cannot be compared to anything you’ve experienced.

Solitude

Solitude
Picture of a Damselfish taken at Santa Marina, Salina, Italy.

“There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,

I love not man the less, but Nature more”
– George Gordon Byron

Science of: Umbrella algae – 2cm of awesomeness

Umbrella Tripticon

Small fish
A school of small fishes in shallow water.
Breakfast spread
The breakfast lure. 2 cups of coffee and 2 cornetti filled with ricotta cheese.

I could barely stay awake. Hubby made a cup of coffee and brought out the croissants filled with ricotta cheese we had bought yesterday to lure me out of bed. That strategy worked for half an hour. Right after my stomach was filled, I headed straight back to bed under the security of the mosquito net to sleep some more. Continue reading “A full day of snorkelling”

My favourite topic – Scuba Diving!

Sea Anemone with its resident Clownfish.

Hubby and I were excited to do a couple of dives in Japan and Okinawa was our choice because of its climate and water temperature during this time of the year (last week of Feb). It was not optimal; still a bit too cold, but it was better than the other places we were heading to after Okinawa. Continue reading “Diving in Okinawa”
